Battlefield 3 - Mission 2 - Operation Swordbreaker

Arrival of the 1st Reconnaisance BattalionEdit

Henry Blackburn, David Montes, and the rest of their squad are travelling in an LAV-25, and, over the radio, are ordered to dismount and locate a squad known to be searching for IEDs. Montes remarks on the state of the area, how "this part of the world get's fucked up all of the time", to which a squad-mate replies that he doesn't know. Blackburn and the squad follow Matkovic into a road-side bazaar, meeting up with Cole, their commander, who is standing beside a map of the area. He gives the squad orders to locate a missing unit that had been investigating a possible IED in the city, telling them to find the squad before the PLR.
Finding the Missing SquadEdit

After their briefing, Blackburn's squad exits the bazaar, entering a garage. Matkovic kicks open a back door and the squad sprints down an alleyway, regrouping at a door at the end of the alleyway. Another Marine then kicks open that door, before the squad enters the building, with one Marine asking "What is this? A school?", to which another replies "Oh, that's right, they don't have schools where you come from."

The Marines then climb up a flight of stairs towards the exit, but a low rumble cuts them off, and the windows start to break. One Marine assumes that other Marines in the area were blowing up high-explosive ammo dumps, but another Marine corrects him, saying that the city 90 kilometres away from a fault line that causes regular tremors.

Blackburn's squad then rallies in an alleyway, closed off by a gateway. The squad takes cover as a PLR technical surges past, not noticing the squad. The unit then crosses a large street, with Blackburn and Matkovic taking a doorway through into a garage. Proceeding towards a car park for a large hotel, the squad are unnerved by the lack of civilians in the area.

Battlefield 3 - Mission 3 - Uprising

The mission begins with Blackburn regaining consciousness from underneath a large piece of destroyed road. In front of him, a wounded Marine cries for help, and is answered by Solomon and a PLR insurgent, who drags the soldier away, whilst the soldier continues to scream in pain at the movement. Pushing away chunks of rubble, Blackburn makes his way out of the natural hiding spot that he had been stuck in, and draws his knife.
Retracing steps - towards the hotelEdit

After drawing his knife, Blackburn crawls along a tear in the tarmac, avoiding the torch beams of patrolling PLR soldiers, who are searching the area. During the crawl, a PLR tannoy plays repeating messages, claiming that the PLR would help wounded Americans, and that hiding was considered "an act of agression". Crawling into a smashed drainage pipe, Blackburn is cut off by a rat, which proceeds to try and bite his finger as Blackburn tries to wave it away. Failing to wave it away, Blackburn stabs the rat behind it's head.

Exiting the pipe, Blackburn proceeds into a large building, silently opening the door. Spying a PLR insurgent, Black creeps up and stabs the unsuspecting guard, grabbing his AKS-74U afterwards. However, the rest of the PLR inside the building were also alerted to Black's presence, and a gunfight ensues in the corridor of the building. However, Blackburn wins the fight, and exits the building at the end of the corridor.

Arriving in the parking lot outside the hotel, a V-22 Osprey flies overhead, distracting a PLR squad and allowing Blackburn to move forward carefully, eliminating the squad at the same time. Blackburn then engages a PLR patrol in the parking lot, eliminating them and proceeding into the garage where Chaffin had been shot. However, yet more PLR insurgents have taken up defensive positions inside the building, and Black has to again fight through them

Battlefield 3 - Mission 4 - Going Hunting

The mission begins as Hawkins meets up with her pilot below deck on the USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier, and is briefed on the mission ahead. The mission the pair had was to neutralise Al-Bashir in the Mehrabad Airport, but the pilot noted that Iranian jets were already in the air. The pair make their way onto the flight deck, passing several naval personnel on her way to the jet, an F/A-18F Super Hornet.

Putting on her helmet once reaching the aircraft, Hawkins climbs into the rear seat of the Super Hornet, and activates the Multi-Function Displays in front of her seat, and closing the canopy. Her pilot then begins to run through pre-flight checks, starting with checking the flaps and stabilisers on the aircraft. Hawkins first visually checks the port side of the aircraft, then the starboard side, before signalling that the aircraft was ready for take-off. Next, Hawkins activated the Helmet Mounted Display, checking that the cannon, Sidewinder missiles and flares were all working, before giving the final go-ahead for launch. Shark 4-2, the wingman to Shark 4-6, Hawkins' jet, was catapulted off of the ship first, before 4-6 is catapulted moments later. Flying a loop around the US fleet in the ocean, 4-2 and 4-6 link up and proceed towards their objective.

Battlefield 3 - Mission 5 - Operation Guillotine

The mission begins on a hill overlooking Tehran, where the members of Misfit 1-3 are waiting for orders to attack the city. The Marines of Henry Blackburn's squad are lying at the top of the hill, and Campo passes Blackburn the M224 Mortar that the squad are to transport down to the canal. Cole, the unit leader, orders the assault after getting confirmation that friendly Marines of Haymaker unit were their jump-off position, and the Marine unit begins their assault. Iranian artillery lands around the Marines as they charge down the hill, and cause some Marines to stumble, but no casualties.

Campo and Blackburn set up the mortar behind a wall, and launch an illumination round to help their comrades in the assault. Montes takes over from Blackburn, who uses a fellow Marine to "buddy boost" over a concrete wall, and pushes towards a canal where fellow Marines are assaulting PLR positions. Blackburn and the rest of the Marines push into the canal, but are pinned down by fire from machine gun and mortar positions on the other bank. Blackburn flanks through the canal to the right, eliminating several Iranian soldiers who are defending the area, and arrives on the opposite bank of the canal. Using grenades and rifle fire, Blackburn eliminates the two positions, and his fellow Marines, alongside Campo and Montes, who had moved up as well, push towards a rendezvous with Haymaker company, who are clearing apartment complexes on the canal bank. Blackburn's squad are tasked with clearing one, and storm the building after a grenade is tossed inside, blowing off the door.

Using a shotgun, Black kicks open several doors, before moving towards a final door towards the end of a main corridor. However, an Iranian soldier kicks open the door, throwing Blackburn back, but Black is able to shoot the Iranian with his shotgun. Blackburn's squad then rallies outside, meeting up with Captain Brady.

Battlefield 3 - Mission 6 - Comrades

The GRU agents begin by infiltrating the PLR staging area for the gas attack, the Paris Stock Exchange. The three—Dima, Kiril, and Vladimir -- make their way through the parking garage of the building, at first attempting a silent entry, but quickly losing the initiative and going loud.

Once inside, the three move and clear various offices and rooms, killing all of the PLR insurgents to be found. As they move, they try to stay within range of Dima's jammer, which would preven the nuclear weapon from detonating. However, as they find the bomb carrier, the man flees, and subsequently begins the gas attack, prompting the GRU agents (and any PLR insurgents remaining) to put on the gas masks they had brought along. The gas begins to seep in through the walls, and very quickly kills anybody who does not have a gas mask.

The GRU agents continue to move and pursue the bomb carrier, when they come across a PLR assault on the police who had taken up a position outside the Stock Exchange. Initially the GRU agents wait, believing the police would drive the carrier back towards them. However, as Dima attempts to apprehend the carrier, he turns again and successfully darts through the police blockade, leaving the GRU agents and the remaining PLR insurgents to contend with the Gendarmerie. Dima and the others attempt to move quickly through the wreckage and abandoned cars where the police are taking cover. They engage and kill any of the police who stand in their way, including several heavy assault police who arrive on scene to assist the normal police.

As the GRU agents come near to catching the insurgent, who had taken off down a small alley, an RPG streaks by, nearly striking Dima and Kiril, but instead hitting a bus behind the two. Vladimir is struck, both by the blast and by a large piece of shrapnel resulting from that blast. As he dies, Dima moves Vladimir to rest up agains a wall, and then continues with Kiril, although his hearing is temporarily deafened.

Dima and Kiril keep moving after the bomb carrier, killing anybody who gets in their way, even as the PLR and Gendarmerie trade fire in the streets. Finally, Dima manages to catch up to the carrier. After a melee, Dima kills the insurgent and tosses his body onto the nearby metro tracks. Dima and Kiril then open the duffel bag the nuclear weapon was supposed to be in, only to find it was a ruse. After several seconds, the real nuclear weapon detonates several miles away.

According to the map in the cutscene in The Great Destroyer, and to the fact that the bomb carriers use public transport to transport the bombs, it is likely that the bomb detonated in the Saint-Lazare train station.

Battlefield 3 - Mission 7 - Fear No Evil

Fear No Evil is a single player mission in Battlefield 3 . Miller is tasked to rescue Misfit

team. The player plays as Jonathan "Jono" Miller who is entering Tehran, Iran in his M1A2

Abrams tank. His convoy gets ambushed by the PLR . Jonathan then smashes his M1A2 into a

building to escape the ambush. He rescues Misfit team who were stranded in a bank. Once

Miller reaches the bank his tank is hit by a Javelin captured by the PLR. Misfit team

escapes in a UH-1Y Venom helicopter with a portable nuke. Miller is then captured by the PLR

and excuted by Solomon.

Battlefield 3 - Mission 9 - Night Shift

Night Shift is a single player mission in Battlefield 3. Misfit team is back in Tehran, Iran

to take down Faruk Al-Bashir. Henry "Black" Blackburn is tasked to take out streetlights

with his silenced M40A5 with a thermal scope. for the V-22 Osprey carrying the rest of

Misfit team. At the end of the mission Al-Bashir tells where the 2 missing nukes are. One

was detonated in Paris, France and the other nuke is in New York City in the USA. Faruk Al-

Bashir then dies.
The mission starts out with the player and Campo on a building overlooking Misfit's LZ, and

the player is ordered to take out the lights. The player then goes down a few buildings and

finds the place where Jonothan Miller was executed, you then fight your way down to another

sniping point. Then you help with Misfit's assault on the suspected location where Al-Bashir

is. After fending off the PLR, Al-Bashir tries to escape in a vehicle, the player sprints to

the top of a nearby building, in which you shoot Al-Bashir's vehicle, disabling it and

incapacitating him. You then go to a mall where you fend off PLR until you can be extracted

with Al-Bashir. Afterwards, he then tells you information about Solomon, and all of his

plans.

Battlefield 3 - Mission 10 - Rock and A Hard Place

The player starts out in the back of a Growler ITV, next to Matkovic, who is sleeping,

dreaming about a 'Vannila Milkshake' . They are en route to link up with the rest of the

misfit units, who have started to move towards the villa of the Russian arms dealer Kaffarov

in the northern portion of Iran. However, as they move through the forest, they are ambushed

by an unknown unit. After successfully fending off the first attackers, Blackburn and his

squad learn that the Russians are also in the region -- according to some of the marines,

their intent is to kill Kaffarov so as to cover up their assumed involvement with the PLR.

As the marines make their way to the highway, they link up with a convoy, the other Misfit

units. A decision is made after some discussion regarding the possibility of sending Russia

and America to war, and after Cole tells them that self-defense is not 'war', the Misfit

units move towards Kaffarov's villa, with the intent of continuing their set mission. Along

the way, the Russian airborne soldiers put up staunch resistance, killing or incapacitating

many of the Americans, and disabling or destroying many of the vehicles. By the time

Blackburn, his squad, and their leader, Cole, reach the end of Russian ground resistance,

most of Misfit has been disabled.

Suddenly, while the remaining marines are debating what to do next, a Russian Su-25TM

streaks overhead, strafing the marines. After an initial confusion, it is revealed that the

necessary anti-air weapons -- the FIM-92 Stingers -- were on the Growler ITVs that were at

the head and rear of the convoy. They make a dash for the ITVs at the front of the convoy,

realizing it was too far to go back to the ones at the rear of the Convoy, moving from cover

to cover as the Su-25 makes passes at them. Finally, Blackburn obtains a Stinger. Although

he manages to bring down the Russian plane, he learns that on the aircraft's last pass,

Christian Matkovic and Campo were both killed. This leads Montes and Blackburn to separate

themselves, and arrive at odds with Cole, who seems undeterred.

Battlefield 3 - Mission 11 - Kaffarov

The mission starts off with Dima, Kiril, and Vladimir skydiving off of a plane with a

weapons case and land down near Kaffarov's mansion. A scouting party noticed the weapons

case and stopped to investigate it, unknowing that only a few yards away were trespassers.

You then take out the party and any backup that comes over to help. The player then has to

go through multiple checkpoints, like the guard post and pool house in order to get to

Kaffarov's mansion.

You are sent through a variety of rooms in search of Kaffarov, listening in on radio

chatter. The player then goes into an underground hideout containing a meeting room, a

shooting range, a vault, and a training room, taking out Kaffarov's men along the way. The

player will eventually reaches a stairway leading up to a helipad, where Kaffarov's chopper

is about to take off. The player has to sprint towards the helicopter and jump onto the edge

of it just as it's starting to lift off. The player will then go in a interactive battle in

which you both fall out the helicopter, conveniently landing through a glass roof and into a

pool. Kaffarov begs for his life, and promises to tell Dima about any information about

Solomon for his freedom, but is knocked out by Dima with a punch to the face.

After the interrogation scene with Blackburn, you scout ahead through the burning pool house

as Blackburn retelling the event. The event shows a knocked out Kaffarov, and Dima holding

what looks to be a MP-443. Dima then explains about how the nuclear WMDs were stolen from

Russia, and that Solomon's next target is New York. Blackburn's officer, Cole, attempts to

arrest Dima (and oddly enough you), but the player is then forced to shoot Cole. The

cutscene ends when the scene blacks out, and puts you in the interrogation room.

Battlefield 3 - Mission 12 [Final Mission] - The Great Destroyer

During the cutscene the two interrogators state that Solomon is actually a US asset. The

interrogators bring Montes in the room and try to persuade Blackburn to falsely confess that

it was Dima who planted the Paris bomb and not Solomon. However, as the two men leave after

receiving a call that a train has been kidnapped, Blackburn and Montes take out the two men

(Agent Whistler and an unnamed guard) when they return, then they escape and Black jumps on

the train. The mission then follows Semper Fidelis up to the point when Solomon aims a gun

at Blackburn. An interactive fight allows the player to disarm him, using the masked person

in the same compartment as a shield and then destroy the engine, stopping the train.

After a short chase in the sewers, the fight proceeds out on the streets of New York. Montes

arrives with a stolen police car and picks Black up, chasing after Solomon. In the end,

Montes rams the car into Solomon's and both Montes and Black barely escape. Solomon then

leaves his vehicle, and prepares to excecute Blackburn. Montes tries to shoot Solomon, but

is shot, causing some onlookers to run in fear. As Solomon pulls the trigger, the cyclinder

is empty, and him and Blackburn then get into a fight. After Solomon gets the upper hand,

Blackburn is able to weaken him, and then proceeds to bash his forehead in with a piece of

debris. He then finds the nuke, and disables it.
